Brian Palmeiro, VMD, Diplomate ACVD
Dr. Brian Palmeiro was born in Long Island, NY and obtained a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University, minoring in marine science.  During college, he served at the head student aquarist for the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences.   He attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Palmeiro completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a residency in dermatology and allergy at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  After veterinary school, Dr. Palmeiro served as the staff veterinarian for a large ornamental fish wholesaler.   He started an ambulatory pet fish medicine practice in 2005, offering medical care for sick fish in the Philadelphia area.  In 2010, Dr. Palmeiro opened one of the nation's first full service pet fish hospitals. Dr. Palmeiro lectures nationally to veterinarians, veterinary students and hobbyists on pet fish medicine and has published numerous research articles and book chapters on ornamental fish health.   He is an aquatic animal medicine consultant on the Veterinary Information Network.   Dr. Palmeiro is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and a founding member of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Fish Veterinarians (www.fishvets.org).

Chris Lopresto, VMD

topher Lopresto is a native of western Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and earned his VMD degree in 2008.  During veterinary school Dr. Lopresto completed AquaVet, which is an intensive training in aquatic animal medicine. He also had a pet fish medicine clinical rotation and spent time at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium.  After completing a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery, he started working in general and exotic animal practice in the Philadelphia area and then in York, PA.  In addition to dermatology, Dr. Lopresto has a special interest in exotic and aquatic animal medicine.
